Multi-Instrumentalist Preston Ormsby has worked alongside many acclaimed musicians over the past 10 years to work towards mastering his craft. Starting at a very young age, Preston took to percussion and began his journey of learning everything he could about all genres of drumming. This is where his love for multiple genres began and helped him become a more technical player, earning him a spot on his school's percussion line. But during all of this, his father handed down an old beat-up acoustic guitar, and all of a sudden everything changed.
After the grind of basic chords and understanding the instrument, Preston took a liking to Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel. He began learning fingerstyle guitar which led to personal songwriting in a similar style. About halfway through college at Texas A&M is when he finally picked up the electric guitar and completely fell in love. He took his guitar style from before, mixed in a bit of his percussive rhythms, and added a flare of new leads and melodies with the newfound love for electric playing to form a very unique sound. With genres changing on each song, the lyrics have depths to them that deliver something that everyone can enjoy. Make sure to come out to a show soon and check it out!
